Why the government is opposing the Janlokpal Bill
Article explains the stand of government over the janlokpal bill. Government don't want to pass the janlokpal bill because just on passing the bill many of the MP's may go behind the bars. It is simply an enforcement body of anti corruption law. Government favors only 7 years imprisonment on proved corruption charges whereas the janlokpal bill recommends life imprisonment.
Actually all central ministers are panicked of Janlokpal. If the Janlokpal bill implemented in India then they will be in great trouble. Apart from punishment they have to return all money which they have looted. This is the major cause of their tension. On implementing the Janlokpal bill many of them will go behind the bars. At present our democratic setup is in favor of ministers. They can influence the court, they can influence the CBI, they can influence the police and so on. They can be easily get out of any trouble arises of corruption. In the parliament question hour the central ministers talked about the right of MP's that either they can pass or reject the bill in the parliament. I do agree with the fact but what is their actual right? Who gave them the right to vote in parliament?. They are simply a representative of people of a particular constituency. It is the People who gave them the right to vote in the parliament. Their foremost duty is to transfer the desire of the people to the parliament not injecting their own idea. This is the only reason why there is a clash between the people and the people selected leaders. If they take the feeling of people to parliament then why this clash of views exists?. The present system is completely in favor of ministers and politicians. Even if they get punishment they can easily get out of those cases within few days or few months exercising their political powers. The ministers think the bill should have enough spaces for doing corruption without any fear. The power vested to the Member of parliament is to protect the rights of people not crushing their benefit for ever. So, they reshaped the janlokpal bill into government lokpal bill.
On 17th of August,2011, One of our Central Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal said to other MP's in the parliament that 'do not cut the branch of the tree in which you are sitting'. His statement is very clear and warn the MP's do not vote in favor of Janlokpal bill instead pass the bill which was already prepared and submitted by the government. No Member of Parliament is bothering about the people problem and their desire. In the dictionary of MP's, winning an election is the license for doing corruption. I am regretfully telling that the it will not take much time in changing the non-violence protest to become a violence. As per the previous history on corruption the congress government is the largest corrupt in India. So, the government will not pass the janlokpal bill but it will try its best to keep away the bill at any cost. The jan andholan started by Anna hazare should be intensified and compel the government to shook before the jan shakti.What are the differences of Civil society and Government over Janlokpal issue

These eiminant members of civil society drafted Janlokpal bill which will be effective in controlling high level as well as low level corruption. The Janlokpal bill says Prime Minister can be investigated for any corruption charges whereas Government says prime Minister cannot be investigated by the Lokpal. This is one of the major issue between the two groups. In an another differences, as per the Janlokpal bill the Judiciary should be brought under the lokpal and in the same time the lokpal should also be made under the supreme court. By making both lokpal and supreme court mutually watchable over the corruption issues. But the government says the supreme court should be out of lokpal. Here a question arises, we have heard many corruption cases of supreme court judges then why government is beating around the bushes of keeping the supreme court away from lokpal. In one more instance, the Anna Hazare's Janlokpal bill have the provision for life term imprisonment whereas the government says maximum of 7 years jail can be given to the persons holding proved corrupt charges. Here everyone have the doubt of why government is so lenient over the corruption charges? whom they want to save from corruption? Is the government encourage corruption and corruption activities in India?. There are large number of questions arising which require answers from the congress Government.Conclusion:
In my point of view, the government is playing cunning role in passing the lokpal bill. It is doing unfair to the people of India. No one is mightier than the people of India either supreme court or Prime Minister. India is a democratic country so every thing should be made transparent and respecting the views and desires of people of India.
