GATE 2012


The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is announced now. The GATE exams are conducted by IISC (Indian Institute of Science) & IIT (Indian Institute of Techonology) to select the students for PG Engineering courses.

The interested eligible candidates can apply online by following link www.iitk.ac.in/gate/gate2012

Date of Examination :
Online exam : 29/01/2012
Offline exam : 12/02/2012
The last date for applying online is on : 17.10.2011.

Eligibility for writing the GATE Examination 2012

  1. UG candidates in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and final year students.
  2. UG candidates in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (Post-B.Sc./Post-Diploma) and final year students.
  3. PG candidated in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer
  4. Applications and final year students.
  5. The students who obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE

Question Pattern for GATE 2012

  1. Multiple choice questions (1 or 2 marks )
  2. Common data questions
  3. Linked answer questions
  4. Numerical answer questions, where the answer is a number, to be entered by the student.
  5. Examples of such questions can be found in Question Types.

1 mark : 1/3 mark will be minused for wrong answers.
2/3 mark : 2/3 mark will be minused for wrong answers
