About Salesians of Don Bosco

A Salesian is a member of the Society of Saint Francis of Sales, a Roman Catholic congregation founded in Turin in 1845 and dedicated chiefly to education and missionary work.The Salesians of Don Bosco consists of the service motive people who help the young people who really deserves. These group are in the Province of India for a period of 77 years in helping the Young People by doing Missionary activities. There are about 50 different centres doing a variety of activities for the uplift of young people of different categories.

There are about 359 salesians who dedicated their life for the sake of poor and marginalised people in rural and urban areas.
This Salesian Team Consists of 359 Members Sated above and they are as follows:

They are involved in a variety of ministries as stated below in catering to the various sections of the Society, mostly the Children,youth,women and Special Groups of People.

Academic Schools

These section offers the quality education to really deserving young people in the remote area in Northern Part of Tamil Nadu. Due to the Political Situation of the State and Country, they are forced to pay the Teachers by Them selves.

Boardings and Hostels

This section of the missionary concentrates on providing an opportunity for children from remote villages to pursue their studies after their elementary Education and as a result of it, they are looking after about 100 to 200 boys. These Children are mostly from the deserving families and they are looking mostly for the free of cost.
For helping those students they are maintaining a corpus fund to provide them regular Scholarships

Technical Education by Salesian Group

These institutes are being run by the Salesian Group for those who can not afford for their Higher Education. Here they are providing hand-on-training for the young minds after their schoolings to make them employable and is available at free of Cost. This training Session are of two categories. One is 6 months course and other is one year course. For the purpose of training children in those skills, the institutes available are:
