Ingredients for making of Sambha Wheat Vegetable Upma
Sambha Wheat - 1 Cup
Onion - 1 No
Tomato - 1 No [Medium Size]
Green Chillies - 2 Nos
Chopped Ginger - 1/2 tsp
Chopped Garlic - 1/2 tsp
Cut Vegetables - 1 Cup [Carrot,Beans,Peans]
Sambhar Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Curry Leaves - As Required
Oil - As Required
Asafetida - 1/4 tsp
Water - 2 cups
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red Chillies - 2 to 3
Steps in making of Sambha Wheat Vegetable Upma
Roast the Sambha Wheat in Medium Flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Allow Sambha Wheat to cool.
Heat the Oil in a Pan, Add Asafetida, Mustard and Cumin Seeds. When it Crackles, Add Curry Leaves, Green Chillies, Chopped Ginger Garlic and Onion. Saute till the Onion turns translucent. Add Tomato and allow it to cook until the skin is soft. Add Cut Vegeatables and fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Add Turmeric Powder and SAmbhar Powder and allow it to cook to 3/4th
Heat the Oil in a Pressure Cooker, Add Asafetida , Mustard, Cumin Seeds and Red Chillies. Add 2 tumblers of water and cooked vegetables [done in Step 2]. When the water is boiling add Roasted Sambha Wheat and required quantity of salt
Whiste the cooker for 2 sounds and sim it for 3 minutes.
Wait until the steam goes off and now you can serve Sambha Wheat Vegetable Upma.
It has less fattening, less in sugars and very nutritious Breakfast. Rich in Fibers,Proteins and Iron too. Good for Diabetes Patients.
