Tamilnadu style Kadai Paneer

Ingredients for making Kadai Paneer


Kadai paneer
Paneer – 200 Gms
Onion – 2
Green Chillies – 2
Green Capsicum – 2
Tomatoes – 2
Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 and 1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Cashew Nuts – 10
Dried Fenugreek leaves or Kasuri Methi – 1 tsp
Fresh Curd – 1/2 cup
Lemon Juice – 1 tsp
Sunflower Oil - 2 Tbsp
Coriander Leaves - 1/2 bunch
Salt as required

How to Make Kadai Paneer or Paneer Capsicum Curry


1.Soak Cashews in warm water for 10 min and grind it to a smooth paste in a mixer.

2.Cut the paneer into medium sized cubes and then fry them in oil to golden brown. Soak the fried panner in 1/2 cup of Fresh Curd for 10 min so that the paneer may remain soft and fluffy.

3.Chop Tomatoes, Onions, capsicum, green chillies into medium sized slices.

4.Heat Oil in a kadai add Chopped Onions and Turmeric Powder and fry till they turn transparent. Next add the Ginger-Garlic Paste and fry for a minute followed by Green Chillies and Tomatoes finely chopped. Fry till the Tomatoes turns soft.

5.Now add Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder and Garam Masala Powder along with the required amount of salt. Add half cup of Water and cook for 5 minutes.

6.At this stage add Green Capsicum and cook for 5 min with the lid.

7.Now add the prepared Cashew Paste to this mixture and cook for a minute.

8.Add the paneer which was already fried and soaked with Curd to the mixture. Cook for 3 minutes and then add dried Fenugreek leaves, leave for a minute and then add Lemon Juice and mix well.

9.Transfer the mixture into a small Kadai and garnish with coriander Leaves.

10.Now yummy Kadai Paneer or Paneer Capsicum Curry is ready to be served with rotis, phulkas, chappathis.
