The Ministry of HR development, Government of India has decided to conduct CTET for the year 2012 to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi for the recruitment of Teachers under different grades and scales of pay. The recruitment applies to various schools of central government, State Government, Local bodies and various schools from different states under administrative control with few Aided and Un aided private schools undergoing their recruitment through CTET.

Central Teachers Eligibility Test Application Form Details

  1. The application form can be held in person from the prescribed branches of Syndicate Bank and Institutions. Also the application can be made online through board website – www.cbse.nic.in or www.ctet.nic.in
  2. The candidates are requested to take at most care and fill in all the required necessary details in specified columns of the application form.
  3. If applied online then the candidates are instructed to take a print of computer generated application form with its confirmation page for future references after successful submission of required details.

Application Costs, Schedule and Pattern of Central Teachers Eligibility Test

  1. The cost of Central Teachers Eligibility Test information booklet and application form would be Rs 500 for general and OBC candidates with Rs 250 for SC/ST and Differently able Candidates.
  2. The fees can be remitted through several means using credit or debit card or by DD drawn in favour of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi from any Nationalized Bank payable at Delhi.
  3. The Candidates are requested to write their Name, Register Number, Address, Mobile number on the back of DD without fail.
  4. The timing towards the schedule of examination has been designed based on the type of papers (I and II) for a period of 1.30Hrs on the same day. The Exam date would be on 29/01/2012 which is common to both the papers and the timing of paper I will be held between 10am to 11.30am and paper II will be held from 1pm to 2.30pm.
  5. Applications received after the period of prescribed schedule of time will not be accepted and taken into consideration in any means.
  6. The Exam pattern for CTET would be conducted in 2 papers with objective type questions.
  7. To benefit the Candidates there will be no Negative marks.
  8. Teachers who intend to apply for primary stage classes I to v should undergo Paper I and Teachers who intend to apply for class VI to VII should undergo Paper II.
  9. The Candidate can also undergo both the papers.
  10. Don't send the application form through courier.
  11. Only application sent through speed post and Register post will be taken.

Eligibility Criteria for the post of Teachers through CTET


The minimum qualification for primary stage classes should be with at least 50% of marks of passing or appearing in final year diploma (2years) in Elementary Education. In case of diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with NCTE norms and procedures then at least 45% marks of passing is required.
  1. If pattern of Education is 4years Bachelor of Elementary Education or 2years diploma in Education (Special Edition) then at least 50% marks of passing and appearing in Exam is required.
  2. The minimum qualification for Secondary stage Classes ( VI to VII) candidate would require a pass in graduation or appearing in first year B.Ed course or appearing in final year 2 year diploma in Elementary Education, final year of 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education, final year of 4 years B.A / B.Sc / B.A.Ed / B.sc.Ed, first year B.Ed Special Education should posses at least 50% of marks.
  3. In case of candidate passed or appearing in first year Bachelor in B.Ed in accordance with NCTE the candidate should posses at least 45% of marks and in few cases there would be relaxation in qualifying marks and Examination.
