Latest News about proposed Multi Super Specialty Hospital
As said previously by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha last year on August 19th 2011 at Budget meeting about the conversion of constructed new Secretariat into a large Multi Super Specialty Hospital has now taken up its start up work in a full swing. More over the chief minister also conveyed to the media and public that the new conversion of the Multi Super Specialty Hospital would be equal to the AIMS Hospital located at Delhi which is being provided with latest medical facilities. Previously several meetings were held up with concern officials to convey their opinions towards it conversion into hospital. Several minister of Tamil Nadu like Panner Selvam, Sengottain, K.V.Ramalingam, V.S. Vijay and many more were into the discussion panel.
Finally to give birth to the proposed hospital a panel of team members were invited for the discussion about its conversion and facilities to be implemented at this hospital. In order to provide good service to the patients and to make this hospital equal to the other well known named Multi Super Specialty Hospital located in different places a team of officials were designed and the team along with the Director of Medical Education visited 5 premier institutions throughout the country and conducted various research work about the facilities provided in those hospitals.Area Key Statistics and List of proposed Department
According to the key statistics based on the Total Usable Area(47491.48 sq m) the department has proposed to set up the below following 8 departments consisting of total 300 beds where 30 beds would be reserved for each section and 60 beds would be reserved of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) section. The lists of proposed 8 departments are stated below as:
1. Cardiology
2. Cardio Thoracic vascular Surgery
3. Neurology
4. Nuero Surgery
5. Medical and Surgical oncology
6. Radiation oncology
7. Medical and Surgical endocrinology and
8. Hand and Reconstructive surgery
All the above departments will be well equipped with latest facilities and hope this would benefit the poor people towards their treatment of service in any of the above required departments.Proposed plan of work
After a complete analysis of the hospital facilities and its infra a report is to be submitted by the respective team of panel members to the Tamil Nadu chief minister and based on the discussion with them they have planned to make changes into its infra structure. Initially for the start up work the government has planned to allocate Rs 40 crores towards its initial stage of work. The already constructed Assembly Hall has been planned to be converted into latest well equipped Seminar Hall and another assembly hall will be converted into Small Seminar Hall. The First 3 floors will be provided with various medical departments consisting of outpatients Doctor Diagnosis rooms. The team has planned to have Operation Theatre at 4th floor and other left out departments will be put up at 6th floor. The B block at the constructed building with 74,000 Sq ft areas have been proposed to be converted into Medical colleges.
