Valentine by seeing this injustice rules decided to help these young men and he continued to perform marriage for these men in secret for long time without the intention of Claudius. Once Claudius came to know about the real facts he ordered Valentine to put into the prison for few years. Valentine during his imprisonment period fell in love with a jailor daughter who visited him and also sent him the first Valentine greeting. Later Valentine was put into death and history says the letter sent by him has the word "From your Valentine". On lieu of the above events lovers exchange cards with each other as their expression of love which still persists in today's scenario. Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed towards his help for letting out Christianity imprisoned at harsh Roman prison.
