Will Jayalalithaa prove one more mettle? Pudukkottai by election Tamilnadu

Ms.Jayalalitha is all set for Pudukkottai by election which is significant to witness as proven test. She lost no time to declare Karthick Thondaiman, as her party candidate to contest for Pudukkottai bye election to be held on June 12, 2012. Followed by Sankaran Koil bye election, which was massive victory to Amma, a void now has fallen after the death of CPI MLA, S P Muthukumaran (43), on road accident on April 1 akin to N. Mariyam Pitchai, who died on May 23 2011, a second sad tragedy in series.

Political Powers in Dark Days

Once again Ms.Jayalalithaa has great expectation from Pudukkottai by election which is supposed to witness as proven test. Within hours before the EC's announcement, she lost no time in declaring V R Karthik Thondaiman, Chairman of Pudukottai Municipality as her party candidate, and as a contestant for Pudukkottai bye election to be held on June 12, 2012. This is a tested method in Sankaran Koil bye election, which proved a massive victory for AIDMK.

After void had fallen, at a road accident in which Muthukumran CPI MLA died, the anticipation grew in anxiety to know the bye election for Pudukkottai. While the situation arose in EC to declare dates for bye elections in different States of the country, Pudukkottai also has been included in the list.
Jayalalithaa is repeating the same poll strategy what is adopted in Sankarankoil by election. The Pudukottai Chairman Karthik Thondaman is the declared candidate, and rest of the parties DMK, Captain Vijayakanth's DMDK, Congress, CPI-M, CPI, MDMK, BJP have yet to announce their candidates, and PMK has known to abstaining from the contest. The Sankaran Koil by election did not regard the soaring prices of Milk, and bus fare, and people mandated AIDMK to saddle the constituency. The litmus test that has to be observed in the bye election whether one has to choose charisma of Amma, or to endure the ordeals to enjoy painfully paltry supply of electricity.

Amma's party will contest as a lone contestant since CPI is no longer in the alliance. Further Amma has declared immense measures of welfare schemes to Pudukottai in the recent Assembly,a few days ago a set of development projects
as a mark of Pudukottai to celebrate centurial anniversary of Pudukkottai Municipality.

Loyal Ministers to work for Royal Candidate

The party poll machinery has been geared up in Pudukottai arena, while ministers such as O.Pannerselvam, Senkottaiyan, Munusamy, Natham Viswanathan are planning the poll strategy. Since CPI had successfully fortified last election, the party high commands revitalising whether it has to establish a candidature as its own, or not to contest in the legislative election.

EC Model code of conducts

While there is an excitement on the poll deals, the EC has come out with its rules and regulations as poll code of conducts that have been in force now, that no new welfare schemes have to be implemented,no freebees from government no funds above two lakhs have to be mobilised without proper proof with relevant documents, all these poll official procedures have been promulgated by the Election Commission as code of conducts.

Pudukottai: A past princely state

Karthik Thondaiman hails from Thondaiman Royal family, is B.Sc. graduate and his family has ancestral political access in Congress Party as his father Vijaya Ragunatha Thondaiman had been a legislator in 1967, 1977, 1980 from Pudukkottai constituency.Pudukkottai, once known as "Samasthanam" in Tamil was a princely state in the Madras Presidency which existed from 1680 to 1948.The Government of Madras was controlling it,amongst five others princely states.
