All night rainfall brought joy on the face of populace of state capital, Chennai of Tamilnadu. The temperature of Chennai is increased from many days and the people of Chennai suffered from intense heat. But the overnight rainfall brought a relief for the populace living in state Capital and nearby places.S R Ramanan, Director of Regional Meteoroligical Centre, Chennai expresses this shower as "Convective rains". S R Ramanan said that the rainfall were restricted to Chennai and its outer reaches.
According to S R Ramanan, the shower was probably to transpire in two or more places at the outer reaches of Chennai in the upcoming 24 hours. All night heavy rainfall in Chennai, Tamilnadu brought a sigh of relief on the face of people breathing in Chennai and the nearby places as the people breathing in Chennai and in the outer edges suffered from moist circumstances and high temperature from the past few days.
SR Ramanan said that because of high temperature conditions, the water level at four dams which supply water to state capital decreased to 3,655mcft from the full capacity of 11,057mcft. Adding this he said that the water level of these water reservoirs on the same days last year was 5,496mcft
