Mutton Korma-Delicious Mutton Preparation


Any preparation with mutton is a very favorite dish for any Bengali. Mutton Korma is a very tasty preparation and is very much liked by everyone. Though it is a very rich and tasty mutton curry but it is easy to prepare. It is mainly prepared on any festive day and this preparation goes well with Briyani, Plain Rice or Naans. Ingredients required for Preparing Mutton Korma


500gm Mutton (Cubed)
4 medium Sized Potatoes
2 medium sized Onions (Finely chopped)
1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic paste
1 tablespoon Coriander powder
½ tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
1 tablespoon Tomato Puree/Tomato pulp
1 Big Bay Leaf
1-Cup Yogurt
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
2 Cloves
2 Whole Cardamoms
Salt, Sugar as per taste
½ cup Mustard oil


Method of Preparation of Mutton Korma


Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
Add the bay leaf and fry for few seconds in medium flame.
Add the onions and fry them till they turn golden brown.
Now to them add the mutton pieces, and the ginger garlic paste and sauté them for 4-5mins.
Now add the potatoes pieces to them and add salt and sugar according to taste.
Now add the tomato puree, yogurt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt to them and sauté.
Now add the cardamoms, cloves to them.
Next add 2 cups of water and put the pressure cooker covered with lid on.
Now cook for around 30mins on a medium hit or till the mutton becomes tender.
Serve it hot with plain rice or naan or briyani.
