Varanasi, also known as Banaras, is the holiest city in India. It is the oldest city that is still functional, i.e. people still live in this ancient city. Every year Varanasi attracts lakhs of tourists and pilgrims not only from all parts of India but also from many countries in the world. Quite naturally, there are accommodation options available to suit the needs of rich, middle-class, and economically poorer sections of people/tourists. Here are some suggestions for the aforestated three categories:

On one side, star hotels like Radisson, Ramada, Madin, etc are charging about Rs 6000 per day; on the other side, plenty of budget hotels charge Rs 1000 to 2500.
