Wine and cashew-nuts from Goa are rated quite highly by the visitors and they make sure that they take some back when they leave Goa. Also one would like to buy various Goa memorabilia and shop in these markets of Goa. The various Goan handicraft, books, pictures, sea shells etc. are some of the products visitors generally buy as souvenir. Some of the famous markets in Goa are-

Arpora night market, Goa


The Arpora night market is one of the famous destinations for the tourists. It is the fashion capital of Goa and one can find various designer and exotic clothes and accessories here. Multi-coloured hammocks to bags to psychedelic T-shirts all are available here. Also one can find the cuisine

Anjuna market, Goa


Initially started by the hippies of Goa, this place has become one of the favourite spots for various Indian and foreign tourists.
The Anjuna flea market is held every Wednesday between coconut palms in the rocky beach of Anjuna. One can find new and second hand goods ranging from fabrics, ornaments, local Goanese, Kashmiri and Tibetan crafts and Goan trance music in this place.

Mapusa Market, Goa


The Mapusa market or the Mapusa Friday market is a haven for local people and tourists who want to buy fresh food stuff. The Mapusa market provides fresh fishes, locally produced vegetables and fruits, exotic fruits like mango and jackfruit can also be found here. Local pickle, spices, ornaments, coir products, dried fish and prawns and 'chouricos'-Pork sausages can also be found here. The famous Goan country liquor is also available at a reasonable price.

How to reach Goa


By Air- The nearest airport is at Dabolim at a distance of 29km from Panaji
By Rail- The nearest railway is at Karmali at a distance of 11km from Panaji
By Bus- Buses frequent between Goa and other states. There is daily bus service to Mumbai as well.
