How to prepare for MP PMT?


Madhya Pradesh Pre Medical Test is the most important examination for the students of biology. What is MP PMT ?


MP PMT stands for Madhya Pradesh Pre Medical Test . MP PMT is conducted by Vyapam . MP PMT is an entrance exam for medical, dental, animal husbandry and fishery courses. MBBS and BDS are two most important courses which are dreams of every biology students. The students of Madhya Pradesh who want to do MBBS and BDS in MP must appear in MP PMT. You can seek the admission in Government or / and private medical college after getting merit in MP PMT exam.

What is eligibility criteria for MP PMT ?


The students of Madhya Pradesh are eligible to appear in MP PMT exam only. The main criteria of MP PMT are :

  • The student must be resident of Madhya Pradesh.
  • the student must have passed higher secondary board examination with physics, chemistry and biology subjects.
  • He must have passed higher secondary school examination with minimum 50% marks in unreserved category and 40% marks in reserved category.
  • He must have completed 17 of age.


When is MP PMT conducted?


MP PMT is conducted in the month of June every year. You can apply for MP PMT online through your nearest kiosk centre. The fees for MP PMT is Rupees 700/- for unreserved and OBC category and Rupees 350/- for SC/ST and physically handicapped. Rupees 50/- will be charged by your kiosk centre. The online form submission is started in month of April and ended in month of May. This year in 2012 the last date to apply online is 20/05/1012 and the MP PMT exam date is 10/06/2012 Sunday.

MP PMT Exam Pattern


The exam pattern of MP PMT is almost every other entrance exam. There is only one paper which is of multiple choices. The time to attempt the paper is 3 hours. The examination is done in English and Hindi medium. The first part of paper contains 100 questions of physics and chemistry and second part of paper contains 100 questions of botany and zoology. One mark will be allotted for every correct answer. There is no negative marking.

Declaration of MP PMT result and counseling


After valuation of answer books merit list will be generated by Vyapam and after this MP PMT results will be declared online. Counseling for MP PMT will also be done online and colleges would be allotted by online counseling. The new session in medical colleges starts in the month of August every year.

Tips to prepare for MP PMT


MP PMT is the toughest entrance examination, so you must have work hard for this competition. Some important tips to get success in MP PMT are:

  • The first important thing which should be kept in mind is time management. Give almost equal time to every subject. Prepare a time table and strictly follow your time table of study.
  • Physics is the most important subject and you can not compete only by studying our text book. You must have to solve as much numeric as possible to get good marks in physics.
  • If possible join a coaching class to get know the pattern of question paper and trick to solve question in less time. The tricks are very important in physics subject.
  • Botany and Zoology are your main subjects, so try to get maximum marks in these portions of question paper.
  • Always do thorough study and try to understand the concept and principle of every topic to get good marks in Higher secondary exam and in MP PMT exam.
  • Try to get help of your senior who have experience of MP PMT they will guide you and you will be benefited by their guidance.
