Important common entrance tests in Andhra Pradesh


This article deals with the various common entrance tests conducted in the state of Andhra Ptadesh and would be helpful to the aspirant candidates. These CETs are conducted annually for getting admission into various courses in the colleges / universities across the state.

The aspirant candidates those who are keen on pursuing graduation courses or higher education in the state of Andhra Pradesh need to appear the common entrance tests (CET) for becoming eligible to getting admission into various courses offered by the different govt / private colleges and universities across the state. Every year in the months of April / May various universities in the state conduct CETs. Following are the most important CETs conducted by various universities in the state of Andhra Pradesh:

EAMCET


Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test popularly known as EAMCET is the most awaited entrance test by the aspirant candidates and their parents across the state of Andhra Pradesh. EAMCET exams is conducted annually by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) and in fact this entrance test is mandatory and a gate way for getting admission into the professional courses of Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine offered by various govt and private college of the state. Besides these professional courses, even EAMCET exam is mandatory for getting into B.Pharmacy and D.Pharmacy courses offered by the colleges in the state. The date of EAMCET this year is May 10' 2013. So if you have already started your preparation for the tests, then you can follow some important tips for a high score in the EAMCET exams. The aspiring candidates who are in their +2 or final year Inter are eligible to apply for the test.

ECET


Engineering Common Entrance Test popularly known as ECET is conducted annually by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. This common entrance test is conducted for the Diploma Holders and for the Maths graduates (B.Ss in Maths). And the candidates after successfully getting through the ECET are eligible to take admission directly into the 2nd year regular B.E and B.Tech courses the un-aided private professional institutions (Minority and non-Minority) approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.

Through this Common Entrance Test, the successful candidates can get admission into the 1st year Regular courses of B.E and B.Tech in the University Engineering Colleges for the seats that are specifically earmarked for Diploma holders and B.Sc degree holders. And the successful candidates of the entrance tesr can directly get admission into the 2nd year B.Pharmacy courses in the Universities as well as the private un-aided professional institutions (Minority and non-Minority) of the state approved by Pharmacy Council of India.

ICET (MBA/MCA)


Integrated Common Entrance Test popularly known as ICET is the gate way for admissions into Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses offered by various universities in Andhra Pradesh. Candidates those who wish to get into M.C.A and MBA courses in the universities or its affiliated colleges have to qualify ICET exam.

This year ICET will be conducted on May 17, 2013. The Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education has already notified an admission schedule for MBA and MCA admissions - 2013-14 which is as follows:

The first phase of admission will commence from June 8 till June 20' 2013.
The IInd phase will be from July 5 to 8' 2013 and the last date for spot admissions is July 30' 2013. Cutoff date for admissions is August 14' 2013 and date of commencement of class work is August 1' 2013.

Ed CET


Education Common Entrance Test commonly known as Ed CET is conducted every year by the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. This entrance test is conducted in view of getting admission into the B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) Degree Regular course in the colleges of education across the state of Andhra Pradesh. An aspirant candidate with B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Sc Home Science, B.C.A and B.B.M degree from any of the recognized universities with 50 % marks is eligible to apply for Ed CET exams. However, those who are appearing their final year and even the Post Graduates are eligible to apply for the exams. The qualifying marks in the Entrance Test for getting admission into various education colleges are 37 %. However no qualifying marks are required in case of SC / ST communities and for women in the subjects of Physical Sciences and Mathematics.

PECET


This is the Physical Education Common Entrance Test (PECET) is conducted annually by the Acharya Najarjuna University for getting admission in the courses of B.P.Ed (Bachelor in Physical Education) and U.G.D.P.Ed (Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education).

LAWCET


Law Common Entrance Test is yet another important common entrance test of the state which is conducted every year by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati for getting admission into the 3 year and 5 year year graduate law courses (LL.B). The aspirant candidates who have completed their +2 or Intermediate level of education are eligible to join the 5 year degree course while the 3 year degree course is meant for the graduates degree holders.

PGECET


Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test which is being conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad every year is mainly conducted for those aspirant candidates who are interested in getting admission in the Professional Post Graduate courses of M.E, M.Tech, M.Pharmacy, M.Arch in various universities of Andhra Pradesh and their affiliate Post Graduated colleges.

AUCET


Andhra University Common Entrance Test commonly known as AUCET is conducted every year by the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. The aspirant candidates who have completed their graduation course and those who are interested in pursuing higher education need to appear the entrance test and fulfill the eligibility criteria for getting admission into various Post Graduate courses of Andhra University and its affiliate colleges in the country.
