    Rushikonda Beach is the best beach of Andhra Pradesh and is one of the best in India. It is located at a distance of 8 Km from Visakhapatnam. The beach with its unspoiled beauty offers the best place to relax on the golden sands. Due to its natural beauty the beach is popularly known as the 'Jewel of the East Coast'. Due to its natural beauty, mostly the spot is often opted by the film-makers for film shooting. In fact this beach is one of the most favorite hangout places for the local people particularly it is well known as a lover's spot.

    How to reach:
    Visakhapatnam is located on the main railway line of the East Coast Railway and it is one of the biggest railway junctions. Trains running from almost every part of the country halt here. So it is easily accessible via train.

    It also has an airport with domestic airline services and is well connected with the state capitals. Once you reach Vizag, you can easily get a private cab or an auto rickshaw to Rushikonda beach. But make it a point to return before it becomes dark as it is not that safe to stay in this beach till late night.

    Ramakrishna beach got its name after the establishment of Ramakrishna Mutt on the beach road and this is one of the beautiful beaches which is ever crowded with localites and tourists as well. There are good number of places of enjoyment on the beach road like the famous INS Kursura - the submarine museum, Kali Temple which is a replica of the famous Dakshineswar temple of Kolkatta. Besides these, there are other amusements like Matsyadarsini - the fish aquarium, MGM Selve World - the amusement theme park, Vuda Park - one of the oldest parks on the beach, Appu Ghar and other such places of interest on the beach.

    Bhimli or Bheemunipatnam is a small tranquil town very close to Visakhapatnam. This place is a very old one with much of Dutch settlements, but unfortunately some of the beautiful Dutch buildings have been demolished in the recent past due to various reasons. The beaches here are the swimmers paradise due to its shallow waters. These beaches too have their own natural beauty and were good shooting spots for Telugu films. Comparatively, these beaches are less crowded than the beaches at Vizag which remain crowded round the year.

    Bhimli beaches offer incredible beauty of the nature with its golden beaches and deep blue sea waters. The tall coconut trees along the long stretch of the coastline add to the beauty of the spot.

    How to reach:
    As Bhimli is located close to Vizag, you can halt at Vizag and from here you can book a private cab or take the route bus run by APSRTC (Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation). If you can afford, it is good to take a cab than depending on the APSRTC bus.

    Where to stay: You can stay in any of the hotels in Vizag and it would be easier for you to go from Vizag to Bhimli. And the road along the coast is an enjoyable one.

  4. Perupalem beach


    The beach which is famous for its scenic beauty is located near Narsapur in the West Godavari District. It is a natural bay with shallow waters which is safe for the tourists.

    How to reach:
    Narsapur is the nearest rail station to reach this beach. Narsapur is well connected with railways to the important places and is easily reachable. From here you need to travel a distance of around 20 Km to reach the beach and through out you can enjoy the vast stretch of paddy fields bordered with tall coconut plants.

    Where to stay:
    Narsapur is a town with historical importance and there are good number of budget hotels that cater to the needs of the local people. You cannot expect star hotels in this place.

  5. Kalingapatnam beach


    The beach is located in the Srikakulam district. The beach was an important sea port in the ancient times which had an important sea route for the European traders. The beach offers excellent scenic beauty and there is a Buddhist Stupa as well in this place.

    How to reach:
    Srikakulam is the nearest station to reach this beach. Srikakulam is well connected with various parts of the state via rail route and road route as well.

    Where to stay:
    Srikakulam is a small town and there are some budget hotels in this place which offer reasonable services at reasonable prices. You cannot expect star hotels in this place.
