About Bithoor city
Bithoor is a popular tourism place in Uttar Pradesh where every year many tourists from different parts of India visit. It is only 22 Kms away from the industrial city Kanpur. This beautiful and quiet city lies on the Kannauj road. Ganga River is the sacred river bank of the Bithoor city. It is believed that it is the place where great Saint Valmiki meditated and then wrote the timeless epic Ramayana. Bithoor city covers the area of 05 sq. km with the approximate population of 9647 (2001 census). It is 126 metres above sea level. The best season to visit this place is from October to March. Hindi is the common language of the city. The major celebrated festivals of the city are Kartik Poornima Magh Poornima, Makar Sankranti Mela and Bithoor Mahostav.

1) Valmiki Ashram – It is a very popular Ashram in the city. Many of the most significant moments of Hindu religion and mythology are said to be created here. The ashram is located at a very high height and one has to climb some stairs, known as 'stairway to heaven.
2) Brahmavart Ghat – It is the holiest and sacred ghat in the city. It is a popular tourism attraction of Bithoor city.
3) Patthar Ghat – Its foundation was laid by minister of Avadh, Tikait Rai.
4) Dhruva Teela – It is the place where the child Dhruv was meditated on his single leg. It was the place where the child Dhruv prayed the God.
