Eligibility criteria for RPSC SET 2012 Lectureship


  • Candidates who have secured not less than 55% marks in their Master's degree or Equivalent examination recognized by UGC in Population Studies, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Earth Science, Computer Science and Application are eligible to apply for RPSC SET 2012 Lectureship exam
  • In the case of SC/ST/VH/PH category candidates, not less than 50% marks in their Master's degree or Equivalent examination is needed
  • Candidates who have appeared or appearing at the final year Master's degree exam can also apply
  • The Ph.D. degree holders, who have completed their Master's degree examination by 19 September 1991, will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks from 55% to 50% for appearing in RPSC SET 2012 Lectureship exam
  • It's important to note that candidates should appear in their post-graduation subject only. If their subject is not included in the list of SET subjects, then they have to appear in may appear in UGC NET/UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year. Remember that the SET certificate will be valid for that particular state only and forever in the case of lectureship eligibility


RPSC SET 2012 Examination fee


The candidates must pay a sum of Rs 40/-(Rs 10/- for depositing exam fee and Rs 30/- for filling the application form) in addition to the examination fees mentioned below.

  • Rs 200/- for SC/ST of Rajasthan state and All the PH /VH Candidates

  • Rs 350/- for BC/SBC (Non-Creamy layer) of Rajasthan state Candidates

  • Rs 650/- for BC/SBC (Creamy layer) of Rajasthan state and General Candidates


The fee must be paid through E-Mitra Kiosk, C.S.C. Center authorized by the Government of Rajasthan.

RPSC SET 2012 syllabus and exam pattern


Remember that the syllabus for all the papers of RPSC SET 2012 is based on UGC/CSIR, NET examination. In the case of science subjects like Physical Science, Chemical Science, Life Science and Mathematics, the paper1 will be based on the syllabus of UGC-NET, paper 2 from the section B syllabus of paper 1 of CSIR and paper 3 from paper 2 syllabus of CSIR. You can obtain the syllabus from official websites of RPSC Ajmer, UGC (NET) and CSIR(NET) which is given below.

It's important to note that there will be 2 sessions for this exam, of which paper 1 and paper 2 will be the first session while paper 3 will be the second session. The details are given below:

  • Paper 1: Carries 100 marks and out of 60 questions, the candidate need to attend about 50 questions. The time duration is 1 ¼ hours

  • Paper 2: Carries 100 marks and out of 50 questions, all are compulsory. The time duration is 1 ¼ hours

  • Paper 3: Carries 150 marks and out of 75 questions, all are compulsory. The time duration is 2 ½ hours
