Stray Animal Life in Mumbai - Amidst the Hustle and Bustle of the City

Just like there are a swarm of bees, flies and other insects,no one can fail to spot stray life such as dogs and cats in the vicinity on the streets of Mumbai. Even though there are stray animal shelters in the city of Mumbai, it seems to be clear that strays seem to outdo the work of the animal shelter officials.

Animals such as dogs and cats can be cute and worthy of being a pet and faithful companion in such a city where stress and strain is clearly present in everyone's life regardless of being a human being or an animal. Someone living in Mumbai finds it impossible to spot a road on which there are no stray dogs or cats living in the alleys or dumps in and around the city.

Even though there are Animal Welfare Organizations operating in the city of Mumbai, they are clearly not able to cope with the increasing number of stray animal life such as stray dogs and cats in the vicinity of the streets of Mumbai. Giving these furry creatures a helping hand in the stress and strain of this city in terms of pollution like noise, air and water pollution can be quite a good measure to curb epidemics and other viral diseases.

Some steps to lessen the problem

For non-pet owners, taking a step to adopt a stray dog or cat can be a great way to promote animal welfare and security since there is no better security than having your very own dog guarding your home against various anti-social elements. Also ,what more than having a good and faithful companion for people living all alone who need good and faithful company which at times, is impossible for some people to get from human beings, considering their loyalty.

People who cannot afford the responsibility of adopting an animal like a cog or a cat can easily donate resources to animal welfare organizations which are known to be genuinely work for the welfare of stray animals in the city of Mumbai. Stray animals which needs medical attention should be immediately informed to the animal welfare organizations which in turn has to duly co operate with the veterinary doctors and co ordinate for the purpose of the affected animals total recovery.

The benefits

In the process of caring and loving for these stray animals and looking after their well being, the person who cares for these animals themselves feels a sense of fulfillment and purpose in their life. It has also been medically proven that caring and stroking animals keeps the heart and overall health of the human being who is providing care to these animals, and so, it clearly shows that this act of kindness and care also has its set of advantages too for the human race.

Conclusion

The initiative on the part of animal welfare organizations for the well being of stray animals is of utmost importance to save these stray animal lives in Mumbai. What's more, the citizens of the city of Mumbai needs to show sympathy to these helpless creatures and use their work off-days and their holidays in order to lessen the pain that these creatures get from the stress and strain of the city and against the perils of fulfilling their daily nutritional requirement in terms of food.

In Mumbai and also in Navi Mumbai area, we can find so many stray dogs in the lanes near housing societies and in the lanes behind the market area. Stray dogs are generally confined to their territories and do not venture out of it due to danger of getting attacked by a group of other dogs belonging to other territory.
These stray animals are surviving on the mercy of the morning walkers and other animal lovers who feed them biscuits and other material from time to time. Some agencies in the nature of NGO or government municipal departments take these animals time to time for sterilization so that their population do not increase. There are very few people who adopt the stray dogs as most of the people who can afford to keep the pets go for the branded breeds and unique quality dogs.
Some societies even object the animal lovers for feeding these animals telling that it makes them habitual of staying near those colonies and create nuisance in the night and late night time.
Some of these stray dogs are so cute and good in their behaviour that many animal lovers pat them at their back and feed them just like they feed their own pets in their houses.
Though there are some NGOs and other agencies which keep the stray animals in their compound but seeing the large number of these animals it is not possible to accommodate them all by these agencies.
The stray animals and menace created by them remains an issue in Mumbai and adjacent areas.
