Crafts at Dilli Haat


Dilli Haat is one stop destination for people looking for the most creative crafts ever made. The craftsmen who are registered with D.C.Handicrafts display their crafts at Dilli Haat. There are in total 62 stalls which are distributed among all the craftsmen from all over India on rotational basis. Thera re charged a fees of Rs 100 per day for a maximum period of 15 Days. This is done to encourage the crafts men and to also ensure that they are not forced to sell the crafts at high rates due to high charges for stalls.

Food at Dilli Haat


If you are one of those who like to taste variety of food then Dilli Haat is the place for you. You will find a variety of food belonging to different parts of the India. You can enjoy momos from Sikkim or the Bamboos hot chicken from Nagaland, south Indian dishes, rajastahni thaal , Kahwa & Kebabs from Jammu, Pooranpoli from Maharastra or the Gujrati Dhokla and much more at reasonable costs. There are 25 stalls dedicated to food to serve people craving for taste.

Dilli Haat Model or Concept


Dilli Haat gives a feel of traditional Rural Haat or village market. You will find a glimpse of the heritage of India in various forms like crafts and food. Food and craft bazaar is one of the most vibrant display of rich cultural heritage of India. You are definitely bound to come to this place again and again once you have arrived at this place. Moreover the concept behind the Dilli hat is to promote local craftsmen. Everybody wants his work to be rewarded. It is a combine effort of Delhi tourism and NDMC, D.C. (Handicrafts) & D.C. (handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India & Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
The inauguration Dilli Haat was done in the month of March 1994. Till now more than 50,000 handicraft and handloom artisans have showed their talent here. Sales of about Rs 300 hundred crores is reported here so far.

Architecture of Dilli Haat


The Architecture of Dilli Haat is very appealing and influenced by traditional north Indian style. It consists of brickwork jail (lattice) and stone roofs. There are no concrete structure and to provide a feel of village construction involves mainly small thatched roof cottages and kiosks. There are green trees surrounding the place to provide a plesing look to the place too.
