Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts of Assam. The sanctuary is famous for rare species of wild cats. The detail information of the sanctuary is given in this article.

Dehing Patkai Wildlife Santuary is located in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts in the state of Assam, North East India. The sanctuary is famous for tropical evergreen forest that spreads over the bordering areas of Arunachal Pradesh. It covers an area of 111.19 square kilometer. According to some biologists it is the home of world's largest number of wild cat species.

The commonly found mammals in the forest are Chinese pangolin, Flying fox, Slow loris, Stump-tailed macaque, Assamese macaque, Rhesus macaque, Capped langur, Hoolock gibbon, Himalayan black bear, Hog -badger, Jungle cat, Leopard cat, Fishing cat, Marbled cat, Clouded leopard, Leopard, Tiger, Wild pig, Sambar, Barking deer, Gaur, Serow, Malayan giant squirrels, Porcupine, Pig-tailed macaque etc.Among the bird species the most common areLesser Adjutant Stork, White Winged Wood Duck, White-backed Vulture, Slender-billed Vulture, White cheeked Hill Partridge, Khaleej Pheasant, Grey Peacock-Pheasant, Rufus necked Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, Great Pied Hornbill, Beautiful Nuthatch, Black-browed Leaf Wabler, Green Imperial Pigeon, Purple wood or Pale capped Pigeon etc. Some rare reptiles like Rock python, King cobra, Asian leaf turtle, Monitor Lizard can also be seen in the forestanimal

The nearest airport is Mohanbari (Dibrugarh) Airport which is about 80 kms away from the sanctuary. Digboi, Duliajan and Margherita towns are very close to the sanctuary. Bus service is readily available from the major city Guwahati.
