Monument: Rang Mahal in Chamba


Here in this article we are talking about one of the oldest monument of the Chamba district which is known as Rang Mahal, there are two Rang Mahal which are built by the local king of the Chamba during 17th century. This monument is about 200 meter from the local bus stand and around this there are so many places.

Here we are talking about one of the best district of Himachal Pradesh which is known as Chamba, basically this city is famous for temples, lakes, river and various monuments. So in this article we are talking about one of the best monument which is situated in the main market of the chamba which is known as Rang Mahal which was built by the king of Chamba. In this article we are explaining the history of this monument.
Rang Mahal
This is one of the best monument that was created in the chamba by the local king of the chamba in the about 17th century, there are two Mahal one is made of red color and another is made of green color and the distance between these two Mahal is about 300 meter. In the ancient or during the Raja's times, in this Mahal there are all the meeting are takes place and all the function are organize here and in the 2nd Mahal the king lives there with his wife and children. The infrastructure of the green mehal is so good and the rooms are made so large as compared to normal room and it is of two storey, this is in square shape and in the middle there is a little fountain which is covered with flowers, in this mahal there is only one entrance door and one exit door are present. While the red color Mahal is in round shape and it is of 3 storey. But now a day these are the property of government and in the green color mahal there are PG classes and other degree classes are takes place while in the red color mahal it is a government office and also there handy craft classes are takes places. So when you visit the Chamba then visit this place and know the old culture of the Chamba.

Around this mahal there are so many places for the wondering like there is Lakshmi Narayan temple which is on the right side of the green color mahal, about 200 meter from the red color mahal there is a Suhi Mata temple where a statue of Sui is placed. Apart from it there is a historical Chamba ground which is about 100 meter from the mahal and about 200 meter from the green color mahal there is a Bhuri Singh museum where all the old cultural things, photos, jewelry and weapons used by them in the war are placed. You can reach this place by taxi or it is about 200 meter from the local bus stand of the Chamba and the best season to visit this place is in summer because during that time it is neither cold nor hot.
