Indian discus thrower Vikas Gowda was born in Mysore, Karnataka state, India, but grown up in USA. His first coach was his father Shive Gowda. Winning the NCAA championship is considered to be one of his best moments. He made medal winning performances at the commonwealth as well as Asian games. Vikas is considered to be the first Indian male athlete to reach the world championship finals. His current coach John Godina is a 3 time world champion and a 2 time Olympic medalist. Now his goal is to do well at the upcoming London Olympics. and is working hard for it. He believes that his performance has improved his confidence to do well at the Olympics.
