This article gives complete information on the New Water Tariff, Maharashtra; Maharashtra Water Tariffs 2010.

Revised Water Tariff Maharashtra

The Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority (MWRRA) has revised the water tariffs for Maharashtra. The new water tariffs in Maharashtra will be effective July 2010 and will be applicable till 2013.

The Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority (MWRRA) generally revises the water tariffs every three years, so the new tariffs should not come as a surprise to residents of Maharashtra.

As Ajit Nimbalkar, Chairman of MWRRA, stated, those using more water resources should pay more, just as they pay more for higher electricity consumption. He also stated that municipal bodies who do not manager water pollution and do not take effective recycling steps, will be penalised.
