Remember effective resumes will always lend a useful hand in getting a dream job. Employers get thousands of resumes for each requirement. If you want yours to be short Listed, then your resume should be unique and presentable.

Give related title to your resume; employer should be able to identify your career domain from your title. Because they may be having so many resume to short listed, you are making their job easier. Never give your name as a resume title.

Be clear with your objective, it should relate with the job applied for.

Format your resume neatly with bullets, neat tables and boxes. Highlight some important points of your resume. You can use color, but avoid dark colors.

Analyze job description before preparing the resume. Try to make separate resume for every job interview. Make your resume matches with job description. Use key words from the description. High light the key words you used.

Update your resume, every day you are learning something and getting some responsibility. I am not insisting you to mention every day activities, but important and necessary update adds value to your resume.

Mention Course completed year, Work experience duration correctly. Make sure that you are not making mistakes in this area.

Mention your work experience in Chronological order, your latest job should be first mentioned in the resume.

Mention your reporting authority designation if is worth mentioning.
Prepare resume for two pages maximum.

If you are student mention your project details clearly and shortly with the title and duration mentioned.

No need to mention your hobbies and unwanted information in the resume if it is not relevant to the job you applied for.

If you are walking in for the interview, don't fold your resume badly, carry in neat folder or file.
