Engeyum Kaadhal is a beautiful love story which is delivered in a very different angle. The movie revolves around two characters who have different opinions about love and marriage. The hero of the film is Jayam Ravi (Kamal) and the heroine is Hansika Motwani (Kayalvizhi) both of them suit well for the characters in Engeyum Kaadhal.
Handsome hero Jayam Ravi plays the role of an industrialist who spends his vacation usually in Paris each and every year. Hansika is the daughter of Suman (Rajasekhar) who is the head of a detective agency. Hansika comes to know about Jayam Ravi via a client of her father. She goes to meet Ravi and she falls in love at first sight. Hansika believes in true love whereas Ravi does not have any belief. He believes in a philosophy that is "No love, no commitments = No disappointments". This is the motto of the hero of the film Engeyum Kaadhal.
Hansika is insulted by Jayam Ravi when she proposes her love. Hansika is heartbroken and cries a lot when Ravi leaves Paris. After a year Hansika and Jayam Ravi meet again in Paris.
