Anand Institute of Higher Technology was started in the year 2000 by Thiru. T.Kalasalingam. It is run by the Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities. The college is spread in the IT corridor (OMR), approximately 30 kms away from Chennai. The college is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and it is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The construction for additional room is taking place now to increase the capacity. The hostel students are provided with the facilities of playing indoor games. • The library at AIHT is well stacked with more than 22,000 volumes of books for all streams of engineering and management. The library offers various services like Lending service, Reference service, Inter Library Loan, Internet Browsing, Current Awareness Service (CAS), and Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) Service.
• A Digital knowledge centre has been established in the library for the students to access facilities like e-journals, e-learning and other online journals.

The training and placement cell of AIHT was established in the year 2004, in a vision to prepare the students for attending campus interviews.
