Visiting Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari is the first priority for all tourists who are visiting kanyakumari. The rock is around or less than 1km distance from the mainland.

A ferry boat is deployed into the service of transporting tourists to the rock and getting them back. There is a counter where we all have to purchase a ticket which costs Rs 20/- for an adult and Rs 10/- for a children. It is an astonishing factor all tourists stand in queue to get ticket and in the same way they wait for their turn. No irregularity in the set up is noticed so far. After sailing for 15 minutes from mainland we disembark into the holy rock. As landing on the rock you have to purchase entry ticket of Rs10/- per head from the counter opened there for the cause. The view from the rock towards all four direction is awesome. One cannot describe his or her feeling of enjoyment from their inner heart. It is the place where Arabian sea, Indian ocean and Bay of Bengal merging into one ocean. On visiting the holy rock one can feel so light and free from all burden. There is a room for meditation, where the visitors can perform meditation. Making the mind calm and to attach with the soul one should do meditation. The boat trip is fully subject to the weather condition. During rough weather condition the ferry temporarily get suspended till getting normal weather.

Thiruvalluvar Statue most tourist attraction


The one more tourist attraction is the spectacular giant statue of 'Saint Thiruvalluvar'. He is the great poet in the Tamil literature. The collection of his poem called Thirukural. There are 1330 poem subdivided into 133 chapters each containing 10 poem. Then chief minister of Tamil Nadu Kalaigner. Karunanidhi installed the statue of Saint Thiruvalluvar on 1st January, 2000 for the accolade of the great poet Saint Thiruvalluvar. The statue was made 133 feet height to mark his contribution of 133 chapters of Thirukural. A hall under the statue was made to accommodate all Tamil literature. Any tourist visiting valluvar rock can read the books to find his major contribution in the field of Tamil Literature.

Kanyakumari is much famous for its sunrise and sunset. We can see the sunrise with our naked eye coming out of the ocean like a red hot iron ball and in the similar manner dipping of the same hot iron red ball.
