For the last few decades, our national game Hockey is lagging behind in all sphere losing its fame. There are many reason for the leaning status of the game Hockey. Many sports critics blamed the corporate sectors for not backing up of Hockey and giving more exposure to the Indian cricket. Now, the few companies came forward in showing interest to backup the nullified Hockey in India. So, the Indian Hockey federation with the permission of International Hockey federation organized the Word Series Hockey, India. It is a dawn for the Indian Hockey to enter into the world series Hockey in India. The mega event will begin by Feb 29 at 8:30 pm and the first match will played in between Chandigarh Comets v Bhopal Badshahs, Chandigarh. There are eight teams enrolled in the upcoming series Chennai Cheetah is one among them. The team was owned by Shri. Nunwan an industrialist who can give a thrust to the team. The team has selected around 27 players. The Australian Olympian brent livermore who will captain the team and Jose Barsa will be the Coach for the team. Every team will play two games with other 7 teams consolidating 14 games to enter the semi-finals. Will this WSH change the destiny of Indian Hockey Players?
There is no space for the doubt that this WSH will give a ever bright exposure to the Hockey players of India. They will get more experience and popularity by playing more games. The franchisee of the eight teams paid good amount to the players. In this series, maximum number of players can get the opportunity to play. In the past, the hockey players get very poor match fee and large number of state level player even not getting the chance. In addition to that there are very few matches to be played by which they pay 1 lac or few thousand which is not sufficient even for purchasing the sports materials. But now the situation is changing fastly. After this series lot of junior players will get the chance to show their talent. This will really boost up the prevailing condition of the Indian hockey. Many players get cleared to play the mega even but few of them still struggling to get the clearance from their employer. It is believed that all problem will be resolved with an ease.
