Hibiscus Plant - Benefits of Growing it at Home

Being a fond lover of plants, through this article, I encourage all readers to start a small garden or rather I would suggest a "one plant one home" system. The Hibisicus plant or the "Chembaruthi plant" as it is commonly called is the most beautiful plant you can have it in your home. In this article, I share my experience of having Chembaruthi plants at home. Their importance and beneficial aspects have also been described here.

About the Plant

These plants are mostly attracted because of their broad green leaves and brightly colored flowers. You can choose the color of the chembaruthi plant you want from over 100 different varieties. There are various colored Hibiscus plants.

In your Garden

Anyone can start planting them. A single pot is needed to start them. Fill the pot with red soil, river soil, and cow dung and allow drains for the water. You can get a chembaruthi plant from a nursery and plant them. Watering the plants daily is a must as summer season has already started. Ensure that your plant is exposed to sunlight.

Free from Pests

The common pest that I encountered at home for my Hibiscus plant was the mealy bugs. They spread throughout the plants and the leaves becomes curled and grouped up. This also affected the blooming of the plants. Cut the infected parts with scissors so that you can stop them from spreading. The commonly available "Milagai Marundhu" will be enough to prevent these mealy bugs.

The Benefits of Hibiscus Plant

Once the plant starts growing and blooms with flowers, you will be surprised to see that your chembaruthi has invited butterflies and bees to your home. You will start getting plenty of brightly colored flowers from your plants and to see them in the morning in front of your home will be soothing to your mind.
