Semmozhi PoongaThe Semmozhi Poonga is located in Cathedral Road, Anna Salai Junction. It has the first botanical garden in the city. If you want to take a morning walk, then the timings would be from 6 am to 8 pm. Those who wish to take a morning walk in the park should have monthly pass of Rs. 150. Other than this, the general timing of the park is from 10 am to 8 pm. The park will be closed on Tuesdays. The park collects entry fees of Rs 5 to all people (above 10 years of age). There is also ample parking place in the Semmozhi poonga.

There are eight subgardens in the park and there are thematic gardens too. These include palm court, tree court, golden garden, water and rock garden, butterfly garden, fern garden, sunken garden and theme garden.There is also an artificial pond in the garden with quite a number of ducks. Kids will enjoy this sight. The Semmozhi poonga looks bright at night with dancing lights. This is surely the best botanical garden in Chennai.

Tholkappia Poonga


Tholkappia PoongaTholkappia Poonga is also called as Adyar park. The park is opened only for students from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. The entry fee is Rs 5. The park is closed on Sundays. The park is best suited for research and environmental education. It is the best educational park. The park has an organization named as Friends of Adyar Poonga that has about 40 members to create environmental awareness.

The Tholkappia Poonga remains a great habitat for many birds, fishes, insects, and butterflies. Around 85 varieties of birds have been spotted by researchers and many rare butterflies visit the park too. It is the Chennai's best park for students.

Shivan Park


Sivan ParkThe Sivan Park is in K.K Nagar and is the best park in K.K Nagar. It is beautiful park which is the best park for all ages. There is a walk-way for morning walkers and the elderly.
