1.Visit Delhi Passport website http://passport.gov.in/ and read all the detail carefully.
2.Things you would be needing for applying for passport.
Four Original Copy is mandatory for verification of passport.You can use any four from the following list:
- Birth certificate(Must)
- driving licence
- Electors Photo Identity Card
- Rations Cards
- Student Photo Identity Cards issued by Recognized Educational
- Arms Licenses
3.Get the Application form or you can also buy from Post office at a cost of Rs.20.
4. Fill the form carefully by reading form manual with comes with the form or you can also read in website.
5.Submit all the required document and submit your form to the passport office you can also post it through a registered post whose address is given below .Tariff for fresh passport
1.Within 1-7 days of the date of Application
- Rupees 1,500/- plus the passport fee of Rs.1000/-
2.Within 8-14 days of the date of Application
- Rupees 1,000/- plus the passport fee of Rs.1000/-Tariff for duplicate Passport
(in case of Lost/Damaged Passport)

- Rupees 2,500/- plus the duplicate passport fee of Rs.2500/-
2.Within 8-14 days of the date of Application

To know the your passport current status, send a SMS from any mobile number to 9442151518. If the applicant has given his/her mobile number in column 9 of the application, automated message will be sent to the applicant if there is a progress in its status. Moreover, if the applicant has not given his/her mobile number in the application, the individual can send the message from any mobile number and receive a reply.
