Malbazar, also known as Mal, located about 65km from Jalpaiguri and 55km from Siliguri is in the eastern part of the Doors region, and is thus close to many tourist spots like the Gorumara and Chapramari Wildlife reserve.

The local train station, New Mal, is connected by the newly converted broad gauge Siliguri-Alipurduar train line. Kanchankanya Express departs from Sealdah Station at 7.30pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday and arrives at New Mal Jn. next day at about 8am.

Bagdogra is the nearest airport (Bagdogra to Siliguri -13kms).

You can't even imagine how beautiful nature is until you travel from Siliguri to Malbazar by road and by rail. When you come out of Siliguri you will cross a forest and if you are lucky enough you can find wild animals like Wild Elephants, Wild beer, Tiger, Peacock, Deer etc. After that you will step into the undoubtedly astonishing Sevoke Road. On the way, you will come across the renowned Kali Mandir, well known as Sevokeshwari temple. Opposite that temple there is another temple of Shankar Mahadev.

Before reaching Coronation Bridge, you will run into groups of friendly monkeys. These monkeys can be hand -fed bread, bananas etc. You will also come across many waterfalls in Sevoke road. After crossing the road, it's the time for the beautiful tea garden's to take the appreciation. The town itself does not have much to offer to the tourists except for the beautiful Mal Park and a beautiful tea garden Raja Tea Estate (which was known as Abhijeet Tea Estate before).
