Kshirod Prasad Bidya Binod was born on 1864. He was the follower of Dwijendralal Roy in composing plays. He kept himself within the times to please the people of those times. He hindered the devotional flow of the Plays by immense romanticism. He was a great creator of characters but no plays were successful for long times. He was driven by romanticism.
He composed many Mythical plays, Historical plays, Lyrical plays etc. One of his compositions was 'Alibaba', which was a huge success. His mythical plays were driven by too much romanticism. The timings of these plays were well extended. They were not properly composed according to incidents. 'Nara-narayan' was his best philosophical plays and Karna, Bhisma were some well composed-characters. He was criticized for ill-composed characters, incident which do not has proper connections. He was driven by false Poetic Idealism. That's why he failed to preserve the plays as good literature. He just maintained the flow of Playwrights of Bengal. In spite of this criticism, he was an established playwright in Bengal and was successful at that time.
Some of his plays are: Fulsajya, Alibaba, Kinnori, Baruna, Promod-ranjan, Sabitri, Bhisma, Nara-narayan, Raghubir, Khan-jahan, Aheria, Padmini, Chand-bibi, Palashir Prayshchitya, Pratapaditya, Alamgir, Banglar Masnad, etc.
He was passed away in 1927.
