There is also a history in West Bengal that says the first Durga Puja was organized by Raja Kangshanarayan of Teherpur, Nadia and then Raja Jagatnarayan of Bhaduria. Then it is followed by the citizens of West Bengal. In the mid of 18th century the Durga Puja was becoming a occasion in West Bengal or through out the country. Some citizens of West Bengal say that the oldest puja in the city was done by Saborno Chowdhury in 1610 AD near Behala Sakher Bazaar area.
