About Darjeeling
The word Darjeeling is derived from the word 'Dorjeeling' which means the place of Dorjee. This name is due to the famous Buddhist Monastery which stands on this hill. At first or about 18th century Darjeeling was the place in the state of Sikkim but later it comes under the State of West Bengal. In the year 1935 Darjeeling got the address of West Bengal. The year 1839 was the most important year for Darjeeling because in this year the roads are constructed and connected to Darjeeling. Darjeeling is located in the setting of Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest.
