Brief History of Akshaya Tritiya


Akshaya Tritiya, holy day of Hindus, falls on the third lunar day of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakha, according to the Hindu calendar.
In 2011 Akshaya Tritiya falls on May 6 Friday.
According to the Hindus God Vishnu rules this day. Hindus also celebrate this day as the birthday of Hindu sage Parashurama who is the sixth Avatar of the God Vishnu.
In Sanskrit the word Akshaya means one that never diminishes. This day is believed to bring good luck a and success.
