Tarapith is a small temple town located in the village Tarapur in the Birbhum district of West Bengal. Tarapith is considered as one of the Sakthi Pitas in India. According to Hindu mythology, the eyeball of Sati is fallen here and so at this place Sakthi is worshipped. Tarapith is also considered as one of the religious tourist destinations in West Bengal.
