Tarapith is a small temple town located in the village Tarapur in the Birbhum district of West Bengal. Tarapith is considered as one of the Sakthi Pitas in India. According to Hindu mythology, the eyeball of Sati is fallen here and so at this place Sakthi is worshipped. Tarapith is also considered as one of the religious tourist destinations in West Bengal. By Train
Rampurhat is the nearest railway station to Tarapith. After getting down in Rampurhat Station, you can get a taxi or hire a car to reach Tarapith. It is just 6km from Rampurhat. Local bus services are also available.
One can easily avail trains from Sealdah and Howrah to reach Rampurhat Station.

By Road
C.S.T.C. buses ply regularly from Esplanade of Kolkata to Tarapith. Bus Services from Howrah, Durgapur, Burdwan, Asansol are also available to reach Tarapith.
