Posto Bora--Delicious Bengali recipe
Posto Bora is one of the favourite preparations of all Bengalis. Posto is almost common in a Bengali household and making posto bora is very much liked by all Bengalis. Ingredients required to prepare Posto Bora
200gms poppy seeds
3 medium sized potatoes- Boiled and smashed
¼ th cup gram flour
1 small sized Onion-Chopped
¼ tablespoon turmeric powder
1 pinch red chill powder
Salt to taste
Oil to cook
Method of Preparation of Posto Bora
Soak the poppy seeds in double quantity of water for 3 hrs.
After 3 hrs grind the poppy seeds to paste and keep them aside.
You can grind those seeds in a mixer also.
Now in a bowl mix the smashed potatoes, chopped onions, gram flour, turmeric powder, a pinch of red chilli powder and salt according to your taste.
Now add the poppy seed paste and mix them well.
After mixing well, make 4 balls out of that mixture.
Flatten the balls to make patties like shape and keep them aside.
Take a frying pan and heat oil in that pan.
Now one by one deep-fry those boras on a medium flame.
First fry the one side of the boras and then slowly turn the other side and deep fry them till they are golden brown.
Serve this hot with rice and dal.
