His first appearance as a Hero is in the movie "Agnisapath" opposite famous actress Rachana Banerjee but the film become flop in the box office. At that point of time Ravi Kinnagi was searching for a fresh face for his next film "I Love You" which was under Sree Venkatash Film Productions. Dev went for the audition and was selected instantly. He acted in the movie as the leading actor opposite beautiful actress Payel Sarkar in the year 2007 and this film was superhit in the box office. In 2009 he acted in Raj Chakraborty's next film "Challenge" opposite beautiful actress Subhasree and proved his action-romance skills as an actor.
Challenge also becomes super duper hit in the box-office and from then onwards he never have to look back. He has acted with noted Actress Koyel Maliick in the films "Premer Kahini", "Bolo Naa Tumi Amar", "Mon Mane Naa" and all these are superhits in the boxoffice.
