Introduction of Kurseong


Kurseong is a beautiful hill station situated in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. It is nearly 30km from Darjeeling and 47 km from Siliguri. The original name of Kurseong was "Kharsang" which means "Land of White Orchids".

How to reach Kurseong


By Air
The nearest airport to Kurseong is Bagdogra Airport. Regular flights are available from major cities of Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai and Guwhati to Bagdogra Airport. From there one can get buses, hired cars/jeeps to reach Kurseong.

By Rail
New Jalpaiguri Rail station is the nearest rail station to Kurseong. From there one can avail the Toy train to reach Kurseong. It will take nearly 4-5 hrs.

Eagle's Craig
Eagle's Craig is a small hillock type located nearly 1km away from Jalpaiguri Railway station. From here one can have a spectacular view of the hills and plains surrounding Kurseong. The view is very pleasant.

Deer Park
Deer Park is situated on Dow Hill in Kurseong. This place is also a must see place. Inside the park there is an amusement park and a Forest museum, which also attracts the tourist.

Makaibari Tea Estate
Makaibari is a place in Kurseong where tea is manufactured and packeted. The tourists can visit this place and see the tea manufacturing and can also buy the same.

In Kurseong one can also find many religious temples to visit. Noted ones are The Ambotia Shiv Temple located in Ambotia Tea estate, Giddhapahar Mandir on Hill Cart Road, Jagadish Mandir on Bank Road, Buddhist Gompa in Dowhill Road, Juma Mosque in Hat Bazaar.
