From Kolkata, you may reach the Bankiput (Gopalpur) directly by a car. Alternatively, you may board Tamralipta express from Howrah Station. It departure time from the Howrah station is 6:40 am and reaches Kanthi (Contai) by 9:25 am. From here, you may reach Bankiput on a hired carriage. The hire may cost you around RS 500 to RS 600, but in winter, you may have to pay some extra money as hire because of a big rush of tourists. You have another option available for you from the Howrah Station. Kandari express departs from Howrah at 2:10 pm and arrives at Kanthi (Contai) at 5:10 pm.
Another alternative for you is to board a state bus from the Esplanade (Dharmatala) bus terminus. From here, buses depart for Digha every hour from morning to 4 pm in the evening. It would take around four and a half hours to reach Kanthi and the bus fare is around RS 65. Besides, you may also get buses departing for Digha from the Howrah station.Best time to travel
