How to make bamboo chicken recipe?


Bamboo chicken is a very delicious and nutritionally rich dish made by stuffing bamboo with chicken and then cooked on coal.This dish is prepared by tribal people of India. Bamboo chicken has a very nice aroma and you will definitely want to take a bite of it! This dish can be served as a snack or a side dish.

Both bamboo and chicken are very rich in nutrients. You can buy fresh bamboo shoots and use them for this delicious dish.

Ingredients



Chicken: half kg

Chilli powder: 2 T spoons

Ginger garlic paste: 2 T spoons

Salt, as per taste

Coriander powder: 2 T spoons

Bamboo stick: 1 stick (open on one side)

Chopped onions and tomatoes: 1 small cup

Lemon juice: few drops

wheat flour: for covering the hole

Method



1. Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste and keep this aside for 1 hour.

2. Meanwhile, take the wheat flour and make it into a paste. A little amount of wheat flour is enough as we use the flour only to cover the open side of the bamboo.

2. Stuff the marinated chicken into the bamboo stick through the open side and close the hole with wheat flour paste.

3. Roast the bamboo stick completely, by keeping it on coal.

4. When the bamboo is half cooked, cut open the bamboo. Take out the chicken pieces.

5. Now to the chicken pieces add few drops of lemon juice.

6. Garnish the chicken with chopped onion and tomatoes.
serve hot.

Note: 1. Take care that the bamboo is not completely burnt.

2. Before using the bamboo shoots, peel off the outer hard layer and boil them for sometime, as they may be toxic. You can also soak them in water for 24 to 36 hours to remove bitterness and then use them for the recipe.
