Tasty Babycorn Gravy Recipe

Babycorns = 6-8 nos
onion (chopped) = 2
Tomato (chopped) = 2
Capsicum = 1/2 cup (sliced)
Mustard seeds = 1 tsp
Urad dal = 1 tsp
Ginger (minced) = 1 tsp
Garlic (minced) = 1 tsp
Green chilli = 2
chilli powder = 1 tsp
Garam masala = 1 tsp
Turmeric powder = 1 tsp
Coriander powder = 1 tsp
Salt = to taste
Coconut milk = 1 cup
Curry leaves = few sprigs
Coriander leaves = for garnishing
oil = as required


1.Take the babycorns ,wash well and split into halves or cut as circular pieces and cook it with little salt.
2.Cook the baby corns till it becomes soft.
3.Take a pan and pour little oil and add mustard seeds and urad dal. After it splutters, add the curry leaves and add the chopped onions and fry for little time.
4.Then, add the capsicums and green chilli and fry a little.
5.Then, add the tomatoes (chopped) and fry it for few seconds.
6.fry till the tomatoes become soft.
7.Then, add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt , garam masala, garlic and ginger minced and fry it well.
8.When the raw smell of masala goes, add the boiled babycorns to it.
9.Fry for few seconds and add the coconut milk to it.
10.Let it boil and get cooked for 2-3 minutes.
11.Then,garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
12.The tasty babycorn gravy recipe is ready.


1.It goes well with roti, chappathi, dosa , naan etc.
2.Can add 1tbps of sugar if required. (for those who prefer less spicy).
3.can add water instead of coconut milk to make it spicy.
4.can add cashew nuts (soaked and ground) which increases the flavor of the gravy.
