Lack in houses leads children attracted towards the junk food

Normally we seek the hotel food only when there is some lacuna of preparation of foods in house. If our house person prepares needy food for us we never move to hotel food or outside food,
In those days all festivals have some special dishes on each festivals. Ganesh Chathurthi have kozhukkattai in different flavors, Janmashtami is with salt seedai, sweet seedai etc., Diwali have many kinds of sweets and savories. All children in the house are made participated in such functions and eagerly awaited for the dishes.

Besides these in our house our elders used to prepare bajjis, bondas in sundays as evening snacks.

My mother used to prepare one snack in evenings when we return from schools - making wheat dough into roti type (one with sugar and another with chilli powder) and the rotis are cut into pieces and fried in ghee mixed oil.

But nowadays many house persons do have no time for sparing in such activities and thereby just handing over cash to children for moving to shop items/hotels/snack bars.

Nowadays the parents can prepare snacks in houses with multi grain items which brings good health to our children and keeping them away from junk food shops.
