Ethiraj College For Women is located in the heart of the city where the college campus is built across an area of 9 acres. It was established in the year 1948. This college consist of great prestigious structures which measures a total area upto 3,48,751sq.ft. This college provides great infrastructural facilities for the students and thus maintained by the principals, managements. And the college was awarded the Five Star Status and The College With Potential For Excellence. And this college is affliated to University of Madras.The college has 291 Faculty Members in total and about 5706 Students who are pillars of the institutions. • Each and every student must carry their respective identity cards inside the campus in absence of those, the respective students will be fined.
• The college and the exam fees must be strictly paid on the due dates,otherwise the student's name will be removed from the college register.
• Students should not take leave without giving prior information to the college and must produce the letter on the day of return.
• Students who are takin leave for more than 3 days must produce doctor's certificate or the prior documents regarding their absence.
• using of cell phones is strictly prohibited inside the college campus
• Parents of those students who are staying in hostel must periodically keep in touch with hostel warden.
Placement Cell in Ethiraj College for Women
The college administration arranges the placement cell, whose services are to secure the full time job for the final year students. The cell provides information about higher education in india or abroad and the job oppurtunities available in the market. It also helps the students by giving training like personality development and career development skills. The cell helps the students by bringing various personalities from organisation who talk to the students in thier early stages of their education.

Physical education is a part of the curicullum and students too perform well in those. Yoga, Aerobics, Karate and Gymnastics are the main physical eduction for the students. Apart from that additional facilities are also provided for sports like gymnasium, tennis courts, playgrounds for vollaey ball, basket ball, kho-kho and cricket. The students have won the 2nd prize for the past seven years in A.L.mudaliar athletic meet.
