Prakash entered into the film industry at a very young age and his film music was critically acclaimed with the entry of the shankar's production company directed by Vasantha Balan called Veyil. Before entering into the film industry as a music director, Prakash appeared as a vocalist on the sound track of the movie Gentleman composed by his maternal uncle, Rahman for the song ‘chikku bukku raile'.
