Vacancy details: A total of 160 vacancies are to be filled up through PSCSCEE 2012 exam for which the vacancy details are as follows.
  1. Punjab Civil Service (Executive Branch) - 30 vacancies.
  2. Deputy Superintendent of Police - 20 vacancies
  3. Excise & Taxation Officer - 30 vacancies
  4. Tehsildar - 09 vacancies
  5. Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Officer - 25 vacancies
  6. Block Development & Panchayat Officer - 28 vacancies
  7. Assistant Register Co-Operative Societies - 11 vacancies
  8. Employment Generation and Training Officer - 07 vacancies

Age limit: The age limit for Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination 2012 should be between 21 to 37 years as on 01.01.2012. For DSP post the age should be between 18 and 28 years. The upper age limit is relaxed as per govt. norms.

Educational eligibility: The candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline and should have taken up Punjabi as one of the subject at their Matriculation level or equivalent examination. Candidates who are pursuing their final degree are eligible to take up Preliminary examination of Punjab Civil Services examination 2012 but they need to produce the proof of their qualifying degree to be eligible to take up the Main examination.

Punjab State Civil Services Examination 2012 Syllabus and Pattern


The preliminary examination for Punjab State Civil Services Examination is like a screening test to filter candidates for main
examination.

Syllabus and pattern for PSCSCEE 2012 preliminary Exam
There will be two papers for preliminary exam. Paper I is General studies and Paper II is Civil Services Aptitude Test. The question paper for Punjab Civil Services Examination 2012 will be of MCQ type and there will be a total of 150 questions which carries 150 marks. There will be no negative marking for PSCSCEE exam 2012. Question paper will be set in both English and Punjabi.

PSCSCEE exam 2012 syllabus for Main Examination
There will be compulsory and optional subjects in PSCSCEE main exam 2012 and there will be nine papers for Main examination.
Paper I - English which carries 100 marks
Paper II - Essay - Carries 100 marks
Paper III - Punjabi - 100 marks
Paper IV & V - General Studies which has two papers of 100 marks each.
Paper VI to IX - Candidates needs to select any two subjects from the list of optional subjects and each subject will have two papers. The marks alloted for this is 400.
The Interview carries 100 marks.

How to apply for PPSC Punjab State Civil Services Examination 2012


Application fees: Here is the application fees for preliminary and main examination to apply for Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination 2012.
Fees for PSCSCEE 2012 preliminary examination
SC/ST of Punjab and other states have to remit Rs.375
Backward Classes, Punjab have to remit Rs. 375.
Ex-servicemen of Punjab and other states excluding LDESM are exempted from fee payment.
All other categories need to pay Rs.1500.

Fees for PSCSCEE 2012 Main examination
SC/ST of Punjab & Other States have to remit Rs.500
Backward Classes of Punjab have to pay Rs.500
Ex-servicemen of Punjab & Other States excluding LDESM are exempted from fee payment
All other categories need to pay Rs.2000

The above mentioned fees has to be paid through DD issued by the branches of State Bank of India or State Bank of Patiala, drawn in favour of The Secretary, Pubjab Public Service Commission payable at Patiala. Candidates need to write their name, registration number and address on the reverse side of the DD.

How to apply: Candidates need to have a valid email id before applying for this exam. Then they must scan the photograph and signature and keep it ready. Access the official website of PPSC and fill the online application form for Preliminary Examination for PSCSCEE 2012 through the below mentioned website and duly fill the details. Upload your photo and signature and click the submit button. Take the print out of filled in application form and system generated Demand Draft. Make note of the registration number and proceed towards making payment as said above. The signed copy of the application form along with the DD should reach below mentioned address within seven days of your online registration of application form.
