The 7th Asian Film Festival will be held from 23 December 2011- 29 December 2011 at the MES Auditorium Bal Shikshan Mandir Mayur Colony, Inox, NFAI (National Film Archive of India) on law college road and the main theatre at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII Pune) respectively. This film festival will offer a bouquet of over 80 films from about 28 countries. On 23 December 2011, the inauguration of the seventh Asian film fest Pune will be done by Govind Nihalani(award winning film maker) at Inox complex. The organizer of 7th Asian film fest Puneis the Aashay film club Pune in association with Third eye Asian film foundation Mumbai, FTII and NFAI. Apart from the screening of films, it's important to note that the Zenith Asia award for Priyadarshan (famous Hindi and Malayalam film maker and the present chairman of Kerala chalachithra academy) will be presented at NFAI. The 7th Asian film festival, an event in Pune city will be opening with the screening of Opium War, an award winning film by Siddiq Barmak from Afghanistan. But the closing film for 7th Asian film festival is the eleven flowers, a Chinese film that will be screened on 29 December 2011. The highlights of 7th Asian film fest includes screening of K. Balachander's Taneer Taneer, best of Asia, special focus on films from Turkey, special section devoted to films by Jan Jakob Kolski(polish director), My Marathi and Sudhir Mishra's films respectively. K. Balachander is the winner of 2010 dadasahab phalke award. In the My Marathi section, films like Aghat, Shala, Khel Mandala, Manya-wonder boy, Vel 9.15 and Ha Bharat Majha will be screened. The interesting fact regarding my Marathi section is that all the crew and cast of the above mentioned Marathi films will be present during this festival. Apart from all this, a Hindi film named Ardhangini-Ek Ardhasatya by Reema Mukherjee will be screened during the 7th Asian Film Festival Pune.
