FAIR AT TARNETAR or TARNETAR NO MELO



Place: Trinetreshwer Mahadev's Temple, ThanGadh, Surendranagar.

Time: Starts from forth day to sixth day of Bhadarva sud month.Designer umbrella

Description: It is Gujarat's very Popular fair among all fair in Gujarat.
*According to old stories, in Mahabharata Arjun shoot eye of fish in Draupadi's Swayamvar here,at this place.
*People come From all over the Gujarat and also people come from out side Gujarat as well as from other countries of the world.
*This fair is also known for its colour full and embroidered Umbrellas.
*People of Bharavad Tribe perform 'Hudo dance' here.
*Women's of Koli tribe Perform 'Ras Garba Of three Clap'-known as 'tran tali garba'.

Vautha Fair or Vautha no melo:



Place: At Vautha on the bank of river sabarmati,Ahmedabad

Time: Starts from eleventh day to fifteentth day that is full moon day(Dev Diwali) of Kartak sud month.

Description: Vautha is situated on the meeting place of seven rivers.
*It is biggest fair of Gujarat state.
*It is an 'Animal fair'.
*People sell and buy animals here.
*It is famous for sell and purchase of 'Donkeys'.

Shamlaji fair (Shamlaji no melo)



Place: On the river bank of Meshvo River, Shamlaji,Sabarkantha

Time: Starts from eleventh day to fifteenth day that is full moon day(Dev Diwali) of Kartak sud month.

Description: It is a mainly tribal fair.People of Bhil tribe come there to enjoy the fair.
*There is a Temple of god Shamlaji(God Krishna).
*People come After Diwali that is new year to take blessings of god Krishna for their upcoming year.
